20 POASAS QUASIDARKS 1

“Where do the moments lie
of the plague? ” Isabel Câmara
Not so much in the sun, not so much in the dark:
astronomers conjecture the Earth without Sun
and I just embrace the loss of the morning.
Not so much the Earth, not so much to Saturn:
the infinitesimal space that worries
it doesn’t cover the starship’s journey.
Not so much the earth, nor light:
the next step is the total chasm
- when on the verge of nowhere. Not so much to the Sun, not so much to the Moon:
space is the night yielded to light,
day and night fears. Not so much on Earth, not so much on the Sun:
feet down on the ground dilute with each footprint
and indomitable to love, a technique of oblivion.
Not so much to the Moon, not so much to the gloomy:
wander, paralyzed wander, terror of light,
forget, let go of the immediate plane.
And while astronomers conjecture
the Earth without Sun, just that,
I only regret this morning’s loss.
